Adegas Pazo do Mar, is a family company, with over 40 years of experience making wines in Galica. They are dedicated to the production of native varietals, including Godello. They are in pursuit of the perfect balance between traditional and modern methods, to achieve characterful wines with distinctive freshness.
Within Germany’s 102,000 hectares of vineyards, a mere handful are certified organic, and 50 hectares of those are in the hands of the delightful Alex Pfluger.
The Pfluger estate itself, has been organic since 1989 and farmed biodynamically since 2008. The family have a passion for their soil and the way it is expressed in his wines.

Inspired by his passion for great wine, Anna’s father Sergio, a Doctor by profession, first started producing wine here in the 1970s.
Located in the village of Castiglione Falletto in the picturesque, vinous region of the Langhe, the estate is run by Claudio Viberti and comprises a mere 4.5ha. The winery is perched on the cliff-top over-looking the famous Rocche di Castiglione, which descends below it. Stylistically Claudio strives for purity, elegance and rich perfumed bouquets. This is in contrast to some of the wines from around Barolo that we feel can rely on an over indulgence of oak. His wines are some of the most fragrant, refined and elegant in the Barolo region.

The wonderful Chateau has been in the Bizard family since the 17th Century and is managed today by Paul Bizard, who took over from his father Luc in 2018.
Owned and run by the incomparable Diane de Puymorin, this is an extraordinary property where innovation is the name of the game. Indeed Diane is perhaps one of the most exciting new vignerons to have emerged from these sun-drench vineyards that make up the Costieres de Nimes south-west of Avignon.
Chateau de Beaucastel is one of those estates that requires little, or no introduction. Since the Chateau was acquired by the Perrin family in 1909, Beaucastel has reached almost mythical status as one of the most important flagbearers for the Southern Rhone and in particular, Chateauneuf du Pape.

Château de Rouanne, a historic medieval castle and estate located in the southern Rhône Valley, boasts a rich history dating back to the 12th century. Covering a total of 177 acres, of which 153 are vineyards, this estate was acquired by Louis Barruol, the owner and winemaker of Château de Saint Cosme, in May 2019.
Often refered to as ‘The Genius of Gigondas’, by fellow winemakers of the region, Louis Barruol is a special winemaker. Situated in the heart of Gigondas is one of the region’s oldest estates, Chateau St. Cosme.
Chateau du Coing is situated at the meeting place of the two rivers of the Sevre et Maine. Owned and run by Veronique Gunther, this domaine specialises in producing late-release Muscadets with a great ability to age.
The Following wines are from Laurence’s Château Pegau range. Château Pegau is the name of Laurence and Paul Féraud’s recently purchased 41-hectare estate, located in Sorgues, less than 6 km from Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Chateau Musar was established in 1930, by the then only 20-year-old Gaston Hochar. Seeing the remarkable potential in his land and inspired by Lebanon’s ancient winemaking traditions and the time he’d recently spent in Bordeaux, he took it upon himself to showcase what was possible in his homeland.
The domaine covers an area of 420 hectares, of which only 50 hectares are under vine, in the heart of the appellation of La Clape, arguably the jewel in the crown of the Langeudoc.
Chateau Vaudieu boasts an illustrious history. The impressive buildings at the domaine date back to 1767, and were commissioned by Admiral Gerin, of the Marseille admiralty.
Clos de Trias, was founded in 2007 and lies surrounded by beautiful and rugged terrain. Since its inception, Even has gone on to show that he his undoubtedly one of the most intuitive winemakers in the world, producing some of the most individual and delicious wines produced in the Southern Rhône today.
In a little over ten years, the brothers Vincent and Pascal Maurel, transformed this once moribund estate into arguably the finest domaine in the appellation.
Following her studies in viticultural law, Adele Rouze returned to follow her passion in viticulture and vinification creating her own domaine in 2003, close to that of her parents. Adele has certainly learnt her craft well from her father, with her wines sharing the same pure expression and intensity and stylish balance. Adèle makes her wine in hermos-regulated stainless steel vats and keeps the wine on its lees until bottling. This 100% Sauvignon Blanc is fresh and fruity with notes of white flowers and citrus fruits.
Tucked away above the sleepy village of Niedermorschwihr, Jean Boxler, quietly crafts some of the most beautifully balanced and expressive wines of the appellation.
With 20 ha in Breze and 20 in St. Cyr en Bourg, Arnaud Lambert produces a series of sensational, single vineyard wines, beautifully portraying the individual expressions of the differing terroirs here.
Pascal and Beatrice Lambert own this 14 ha domaine, which is situated in the Coteaux Cravant. Founded in 1987, the Lambert’s began to convert to organic viticulture in 1995 and have been certified as biodynamic since 2012, being part of the Renaissance des Appellations. Pascal and Beatrice believe, that to craft the finest Chinon, one must begin by respecting the soil and the vine.
Home to some of the most spectacular vineyard locations on the planet, the northern shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland, produce the single greatest expressions of Chasselas (Fendant). One of its finest exponents, is the charismatic and talented Blaise Duboux.
Purchased back in 2012, this estate, is situated in the northernmost sector of the Cotes de Provence and represents the culmination of one family’s winemaking dreams. All members of the Broton family are involved with crafting, promoting and selling their domaine’s wines, and in our opinion they are some of the most expressive and wonderfully refined in the Cotes de Provence.
Having been in the Sabon family since the early 20th century, Clos du Mont Olivet reflects the tradition of the region. Run today by Thierry, David and Celine Sabon, their 20+ hectares of vineyards within Chateauneuf are spread over 15 parcels, situated mainly in the north and east of the appellation. The wines of Mont Olivet are some of the finest in the appellation. They develop beautifully and possess a delightful, Burgundian finesse.
Gerard Constant is, a successful Belgium businessman, was passionate about wine and had harboured an ambition of owning his own vineyard for many years.
With his drive for perfection and love of great wine, it took him just a couple of years after purchasing vineyards in the hills of Vinsobres, to gain international recognition, with Robert Parker describing the 2007 In Fine as one of the greatest wines he had ever tasted from the region.
Situated in heart of the wonderful commune of Bué, this family Domaine has been around for 4 generations now, with Daniel taking the reins after having studied viticulture and oenology at the Lycée Viticole d’Avize.
Acclaimed by his peers, Daniel Crochets reputation is one of striving for perfection. With aging on lees and rigourous attention to every detail during vinifcation, the wines here truly are breath taking, Sancerre at its best, true honest expressions of the magnificent soils.
Situated in the village of St Aubin de Luigne, in the heart of the Coteaux du Layon, this nigh on 50 hectare domaine, is run today by the talented Stephane Branchereau and his wife Severine.

We have had the privilege of meeting some remarkable and engaging people on our travels, but none more so than Robert Tamaracaz.
In 2012, the estate featured in the influential American magazine, The Wine Advocate, as one of the top wineries of the year. Remarkably, 11 out of the top 14 Swiss wines reviewed, had been produced by Robert, each one coming from a different grape variety. This tells you a great deal about Robert, but also demonstrates the potential for Swiss wines.
Based in the small hamlet of Cheminas, high up in the Hills of Saint Joseph just south of Condrieu, Sylvain Gauthier is creating lovingly crafted and elegant varietal reds and whites from 100% Syrah and Roussanne.
Working completely organically and harvesting by hand, the passion Sylvain has for his terroir and vineyards is clear, and his masterfully crafted wines are already commanding respect throughout the wine world, even though he has not been around as long as most of his contemporaries.
Crafting wines under the Bandol name is no easy task; the appellation, regarded by many as the ‘Grand Cru’ of Provence, already has a reputation for producing world-class red and rosé wines.
This could result in one being unable to stand out amongst the crowded field and for many, that is the reality. However, confidently displayed amongst the sun-soaked vines and woodland encircling the ancient Provencal town of La Cadière d’Azur, lies one of the most bizarrely named, yet strikingly beautiful domaines you are likely to encounter – Gros Noré.
Pegau is an old name in Chateauneuf du Pape. The Feraud family can trace their roots in the Southern Rhone Valley, all the way back to the middle of the 17th century.
We have been working with Domaine du Pegau for close to 40 years. Back then, the estate was little known, only a small percentage of the production was bottled at that time, the rest being sold to the negoce.
Since then, however, fame and a certain amount of fortune has come to Pegau, with the wines being lorded throughout the world and Pegau widely being regarded as one of the finest producers and biggest names in the region.
We have been fortunate enough to work with Marie and her brother Francois ever since they took over the wine-making duties of Domaine Giraud, their family estate, 17 years ago. Splitting the winemaking and the viticultural duties between them, they went about making the changes necessary, to improve the quality of their wine. Since then and irrespective of vintage conditions, their wines have been amongst the most profound and characterful in Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
One of the founding family cellars of Rasteau, Grand Nicolet, got its start in 1875, when Joseph Nicolet tended just over two acres of vines in the village. Today, winemaker Jean-Pierre Bertrand organically tends to over 70 acres of some of Rasteau’s oldest vines, by hand.
Jean-Pierre’s wines are never over extracted and big for the sake of it, characterised first, by their purity, perfume and harmonious balance. There is also an enticing spicey southern richness that makes them far too easy to drink!
One of the acknowledged masters of the region, Domaine Jean-Michel Gerin farms 12 hectares of land in the heart of Côte-Rôtie, as well as having similar sized presence in Condrieu. The domaine is run today by Jean-Michel’s sons, Michael and Alexis, who are steadfastly committed to honouring their fathers work and legacy in the region, whilst also continuing to evolve and push the boundaries of what is possible in the appellation and with their incredible terroir.
Jean-Michel Giboulot produces exceptionally fine wines, which also represent excellent value. Giboulot’s wines straddle the line between traditional and modern, with reds that have crunchier fruit and fine tannins, but plenty of ripeness and purity.
Domaine la Barroche is one of the most impressive Châteauneuf producers to have emerged on the wine scene here in the previous two decades.
Since 2002, this 14-hectare estate has been run by the ever smiling and humorous, Julien Barrot, along with his sister Laetitia. The last 15 years or so have been momentous for both. In the short time that Julien has been at the helm, the wines have taken flight as some of the best in the area and laurels and gongs have been heaped upon his shoulders – deservedly so.
Domaine la Florane, is the combination of two properities, owned and run by the Fabre family, Domaine L’Echevin based in Saint Maurice, and Domaine la Florane based in Visan.
Adrien is a young and dynamic vigneron, who obviously knows and fully understands what is needed to be done to create great wines. These wines are full of character, with a lovely purity of fruit combined with a good sense of terroir, possessing power, concentration and complexity, but also immense finesse.
This breath takingly beautiful domaine, lies at the foot of the picturesque Sainte Victoire Mountains, a bright white line of rocks which, rising 1000 meteres into the sky and protecting the domaine from the worst ravages of the Mistral wind.
Marc and Mireille Besnardeau, of Domaine Les Grands Bois, are fourth generation, small family growers, who today cultivate 47 hectares of vines in CDR, CDR villages, Cairanne and Rasteau, with the help of their eldest daughter Phillipine.
Every winemaker will tell you that their love for wine growing started with a passion. Loic Mahe is no different but he took it to a higher level. Having begun by working alongside the highly respected, Damien Laureau, Loic is now blazing his own trail and is undoubtedly one of the most exciting producers in the Savennieires appellation today.
Guillaume Sorrel is arguably one of the most talented winemakers in the Hermitage and Crozes Hermitage region today. The estate was created in 1928 by Guillaume’s great grandfather Félix, a notary in Tain-l’Hermitage and has been domaine bottling since the 1970s.
One of the shining stars of Ventoux, Corinna purchased the land back in 2001 before building a winery from scratch: she was determined and on a self-proclaimed one women wine making mission. As Corinna herself says ‘Ventoux is not as famous as its neighbours, but it has incredible potential – and I decided it was up to me to show what a winemaker could do here!’
The Reddes have been a family of winemakers in this region for 13 generations and are amongst the most highly regarded properties in the Loire and one of the leading producers in terms of quality.
Domaine Moissenet Bonnard is run today by Jean-Louis, who inheritied the domaine from his Grand Father in 1988, and his daughter Emmanuelle-Sophie.
After taking over, Jean Louis, having a real passion for the land and vines, invested greatly in improving the conditions in the vineyards, bottling the domaines wines (which the family had not previously done) and increasing the domaines holdings.
Domaine Porte Rouge was created in 2003 with 3.5 hectares of very old vines in Chateauneuf. In January 2022 it was taken over by the Feraud family, to be run by Justine and Maxim Feraud, who aim to is utilise the fantastic terroir of this domaine to transform it into one of the top domaines in the appellation.
Isabel Ferrando’s reputation for outstanding wines has grown every vintage since her first release in 2003. Her wines are now considered to be some of the finest to be produced in the appellation, with many critics sharing the enthusiasm of Jeb Dunnuck, who has described Ferrando’s wines as “some of the most profound on this earth”.
Tucked away on the outskirts of Colmar, Domaine Schoffit quietly and unassumingly goes about curating one of the most consistent and best ‘value for money’ ranges in all of Alsace.
Domaine Vincendeau is undoubtedly a new and rising ‘star’ of Anjou. The domaine was created in 2014, by the delightfully enthusiastic and ‘bubbly’ , Liv Vincendeau.

The Nicodemi estate was founded in the early 20th century by Elena Nicodemi’s grandfather, Carlo. Bruno, his son, assumed the reins in the early 1960s, and set about producing the best wines of the Abruzzo.

Il Borghetto was founded by the Cavallini family and is located near the small village of Montefiridolfi, in San Casciano.
The philosophy at Iona has always been to create wines that are reflections of the soils and the climate. To allow this to happen, only sustainable farming methods and natural products are used.
Also, with the help of a long and cool growing season in the Elgin Valley, the resulting wines are elegant and fresh but also complex. This is one of the most expressive Sauvignon Blanc, that we have come across at this level.

Having purchased La Raia in 2003, Girogio Rossi Cairo immediately set out to restore and enhance the indigenous ecosystem. One Chain Vineyards is a project established by Peter Leske, MW Giles Cooke and MW Fergal Tynan, of Thistledown, which sources fruit from some of the finest and most established regions and growers in Southern Eastern Australia.
Today Pazo de Senorans are making some of the most exciting and elegant wines in Galicia. Their Albariño is undoubtly one of the finest expressions of this grape variety and is one of the most popular white wines on our list. Luscious purity of ripe tropical fruits, combined with a stunning minerality that really lifts this wine and gives it a finish that seemingly never ends.
Located in the South Vendee, on the former island of Poitevin marshland, the truly exquisite and unique, Prieure La Chaume, is the most southerly domaine of the Loire Valley. Christian Chabirand created and runs the domaine, which now comprises some 14 hectares, planted on a hillside of marly limestone and is farmed completely organically.
Being outside the Appellation Controllee boarders, Christian has been able to select the vines he felt most suitable for the terroir and which he most wanted to work with. Therefore, reflecting the proximity to the Medoc, the main grape for Christian’s red wines, is the Merlot, with a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Negrette.
Located in the heart of the Vinho Verde region, with 25 hectares of vines, Quinta do Homem is a traditional winery that produces 100% estate bottled wines.
It is one of those estates that immediately captivates you with the charm, passion and drive of its guardians. With the help of long time winemaker and friend Ana, they are determined to show the purity, refinment and elegance possible in Vinho Verde.
Bruwer has established a reputation as a New World leader in the production of Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc from South Africa. Neil Martin called him “”one of the top growers in the region, perhaps in South Africa”” and gave his Eden High Density Cabernet Franc 95 points.
Richard Rottiers is without doubt one of the finest young producers in Beaujolais. Richard has winemaking in his blood, but he’s not from the Beaujolais.
The irrepressible Philippe Gimel is a true pioneer, his enthusiasm for his vineyards is infectious and his passion is unquestionable. Phillipe’s raison d’etre, is to produce a wine unencumbered by oak, that showcases the magnificent terroir of his small, 15-hectare estate, situated between les Dentelles and Mount Ventoux.
Just north of the Abruzzo, nestled in the rolling hills behind the walled city of Ascoli Piceno, lies the estate of Saladini Pilastri. They are one of the oldest families, with a history dating back to the year 1000.
Based in Tokaji, in the village of Mád (long known for providing some of the key vineyards within this historic region), is István Szepsy, of St Tamás. Istvàn is a true maverick of the area, and is on a mission to show the world that Tokaji, can make more than just great sweet wine.
The Ciacci family has been based in Montalcino since 1850, and are highly revered in the region.
Nowadays, a power trio of three knowledgeable women are at the helm of production: with Giovanna taking care of the general administration and her daughters Laura and Lucia in charge of the vineyards and winemaking. Together they craft some of the most delightful and best value wines in Montalcino.
Tenuta Giustini is a family owned estate, comprising some 25 ha of vineyards in the Ionio Salento region of Apulia. With an annual production of around 250,000 bottles, Tenuta Giustini is a very exciting estate, not only producing wines which offer immense charm and pleasure, but which also represent incredible value.
Tenuta Olim Bauda is run by three siblings, Dino, Diana and Gianni who in 2000, decided to try to revive the fortune of their family’s estate. The Tenuta had spent 15 years closed down following the death of their father in 1985 when they were very young. Since then they have managed to re-establish Tenuta Olim Bauda as one of Piedmont’s top producers.
Spectacularly perched halfway up the southern-most mountain range in South Africa, only a few kilometers from the southern oceans, sits the Jack family’s, The Drift Farm. The wines crafted here are gloriously rich, refined and complex with savoury and unctuously deep and pure fruit. Firmly established as one of the finest producers of sweet Moscatels in the world, today, Venancio Costa Lima produces a remarkable range of wines from the three designated appellations of the region, Moscatel de Setubal, the DO Palmela (Designation of Proteted Origin) and I.G. Setubal, (Protected Geographic Indication). The wines are mainly produced from indigenous grape varieties, the Castelao for the red and Moscatel, Verdelho and Fernao Pires for the whites, and represent incredible value for what is in the bottle.
