Infrequent Flyers Mannochmore 2008 (17 year old) 50.4%
Tasting Note
Refill Ruby Port Hogshead Finish
Cask: 804804
Dist: 2008 Btl: 2025
Tasted: Mar 2026
The nose is very coffee’d and dusty with chocolate, sweet raspberry and strawberry fruit along with hints of malt and vanilla. Lime acidity scythes through the sweetness and clears the way to show floral barley green apple and mature sawdusty oak. Really well balanced.
The palate is very fresh with crisp and almost crunchy white fruit, white liquorice and barley. Crystalised strawberry, raspberry and hints of menthol. Like the nose the lime acidity give the palate an incredible tongue tingling vibrancy. Lovely drop of honey and subtly mature oak on the middle. A little masked, citric, green Speyside fruit, green apple, grass and menthol finish.
Water emphasises the coffee and barley on the nose. The palate is also a little less complex but brings out coffee malt and maybe a touch more of the silky port fruit. Less citric with green fruit finish and cream coffee after-taste.
