Kinahan’s The KASC Project [M] Single Malt Irish Whiskey 45%

Tasting Note

Aged in hybrid casks constructed from 5 different trees – Portuguese oak, American oak, French oak, Hungarian oak and Chestnut.
Re-Tasted: Jun 2026
The Portuguese vanillins appear first. Subtle American and French oak with hints of malt and wood spice. The dark Hungarian oak only comes through with time. To be honest it lacks the intensity of the grain component (of the blend) to cut through the oak.

The palate opens with the American oak and some lightly toasted French. Full and weighty with a touch of spice and red fruit. Again, it lacks some grain to push through the oak. Good spicy finish with lingering marzipan, toffee, almond and a little bittering oak.
