The nose is actually quite fresh and citric with sweet and herbal sherried dried fruit. With time there’s some rose Turkish delight, but I don’t detect any smoke though.
The palate displays sweet and herbal Oloroso dried fruit and a little wood smoke (there it is!). Sweet and juicy with lemon, apple, bitter liquorice and sherrywood spice. Masked but continuing bitter with lingering white fruit and herbal dried fruit.
Water brings out a bubblegummy white fruit note and barley as the sherry has pretty much disappeared. The same has happened on the palate. It’s a lot sweeter with peach, apple and pineapple. Long, slightly smoked finish with lingering citrus
