A fresh and briny nose. Slightly medicinal with dry peat, malt, salt and savoury notes. Considering it’s predominantly Oloroso matured the sherry influence is quite subtle. Continues to develop apricot, apple, coal dust, petrol, iodine, rock pools and banana skin. Wonderfully balanced.
The palate displays more sherry character with burnt wood and more oily peat. Soft dried fruit, a little drier peat, tar, bog myrtle, salt and spice notes appear. Long, robust finish with chalk, dry peat, tannin, coffee and dark chocolate. Lovely sooty/ dusty after-taste.
