Aromas of lemon and medicinal peat. It opens to show menthol, pepper, sweet marzipan, almond oil, icing sugar, salt and off-sweet barley.

The palate displays a lovely combination of ashy and sweet peat, along with lemon, heather, sweet barley, brine and sweet oak. I love how the palate begins quite citric with the sweetness, both oak and barley building as the palate progresses. Hints of menthol and pepper on the middle. Masked but sweet barley, sweet oak, coconut and vegetation in the finish.

Water makes very little change to the nose. A little less peat perhaps? The palate is less citric and sweeter. Honey and oak sweetness. Again, less peat intensity and a little more cereal and salt. Lovely balance, although I personally prefer it neat.
