A very savoury and meaty nose slathered with thick bbq sauce! Earthy peat smoke and sharp citrus appear along with a little honey and peat dust. Very subtle medicinal note appears with time, and the chunky vanilla oak gives the nose a pleasant weight.
The palate opens with nippy green fruit and green peat, oh, and alcohol! Lightly herbal honey, vanilla and some savoury/ meaty notes follow along with herbal peat smoke. Very masked, very intense, herbal peat finish with some lovely soft oak notes in the after-taste.
Water makes very little change to the nose. A little softer, perhaps and maybe a touch more oak? The palate definitely shows ,ore oak now and more smoked meat. Less astringent peat and more vanilla. Medium length with a peat smoke finish.
