Tasting Note
A rather Springbank-eque nose. Light, briny and fishy with straw, coffee, fish oils and earthy peat. Some fairly noticeable sweet vanilla oak comes through along with a touch of marzipan and oxidised apricot.
The palate opens with the creamy oak, barley, sweet, dried apricot, salt, fish and earthy peat. Good intensity and building peat on the middle. Long, with the oak returning along with wood spice and lingering peat. (Tasting Note from Batch 22/167, tasted Sept 2022)
