Tasting Note

Code: L4-096-21

Btl: Apr 2021

Tasted: Dec 2021

A malty, meaty, earthy and fairly heavily peated nose with salt, baked fruit, vanilla and oilier malt and earth. With time hints of sweet citrus, tar and burnt wood.

The palate is salty, malty and meaty with subtler earthy peat but it builds well into the mid palate. A touch of baled fruit on the middle with more malt and salt. Mouth-filling but quite elegant. Slightly masked but spicy and earthy finish with lingering malt notes.

A drop of water dampens down the malt and peat on the nose, but brings out a touch of honey coated apricot and drier, woodier peat. The palate is oilier and again less malty and peaty. The drier woody character is quite evident and the middle is still malty and salty. Long, classic Campbeltown, malty finish with an earthy after-taste.
