The nose is fresh and barley’d with lemon, baked fruit and hints of cacao, oily malt and a little Campbeltown funk. With time vanilla, wood spice and a little smoke. It certainly benefits from more Glen Elgin than Batch 1.
The palate it generous and fruity, almost estery in character with apricot, apple, citrus, sweet malt, marmalade, toffee and slightly oily Campbeltown malt and fish. Long, slightly tart citrus and sweet barley finish with pollen heavy flowers, wood smoke, nutmeg, cacao and clove. In conclusion: It has a distinctly ‘old fashioned’ character but with a modern twist.
