Description

2nd fill Puncheon 103260A/1991
Dist: Nov 1991 Btl: Apr 2026
Tasted: May 2026
The nose opens with some almost rum-like tropical dried fruit with hints of coconut, vanilla pastry, lemon, banana, wheat, corn oil, cinnamon, toffee, peanut and a late petrol note. It’s possible that the Puncheon once held rum, but either way it’s a fabulous old grain.

The palate is also rummy and tropical with an abundance of apricot, apple cane sugar, coconut, peanut and cinnamon. A little wood char on the middle along with toffee. Some citric grain spirit notes cut through and bring a little wood spice along for the ride. Stunning depth and mouthfeel. Long, grainy and tongue tingling spicy finish. Superb stuff!
