Tasting Note

Thornbridge Imperial Stout Cask Finish
Btl: 2025
Tasted: Nov 2025
Aromas of stouty black fruit, barley and minerals. There’s a distinct alcohol nip, which is a little surprising, but there’s a good balancing creamy oak note and with time black fruit, earth, subtle peat and a late menthol nuance.

The palate opens with the stouty dried black fruit and creamy oak. Less barley but a little does come through on the middle. Silky and off sweet, but the finish is quite earthy and edgy. Masked, mineral and citric finish with returning stout notes.

Diluted the nose displays more barley and it’s also a little sweeter. Less peat and earth, but still a good amount of stout character. The palate is also a tad sweeter and juicier with more barley showing with a finish pretty much the same as neat.
