Tasting Note

Re-racked into Cognac
Btl: 2026
Tasted: Feb 2026
Quite a complex nose. It opens fresh, grain-like and almost coastal with rose oil, Turkish delight, malt, barley, creamy strawberry/ raspberry, baked apple, vanilla, lemon, sweet vanilla and a salty minerality. A distinctly un-funky Lomond!

The palate is heavier and oilier and shows more barley, toffee and oxidised apple. Less mineral and almost savoury with a touch of coffee and honey. Subtle oak on the middle. Masked, rose Turkish delight and pout pourri petals finish.

Diluted the nose is still fresh but a bit less complex. Alcohol seeped, slightly confected white fruit, gristy barley and salty minerals. The palate is also a little connected with sweeter Turkish delight and sweeter oak, but less Cognac character. Simpler but still oily. Longer, sweet barley, grippy tannins and burnt toffee finish.
