A slightly gristy barley nose with dusty pollen heavy flowers, acacia honey, toffee and nippy, almost grain-like spices. A classically rich and savoury Aultmore with a fabulous intensity.
The palate is full, honeyed, barley’d and malty with lovely supportive oak. Toffee’d spice tannins, manuka honey, sultana and some almost rummy dried fruit comes though on the middle. Masked finish with grist, honey, slightly burnt spice and toffee.
Water brings out tangerine, lemon, lime and all things citrus on the nose! Still rich and malty though. The palate is also quite citric and has become a veritable juice fest! Succulent, deep and long.
