Vilmart Ratafia Chardonnay (50cl)

Here we have a little labour of love for Laurent, never one to rest on his laurels and ever the experimenter. This is a fortified dessert wine made from 100% Chardonnay and aged in barrel for 7 years. The rounded nose is fresh with mentholated notes and candied apricots. Coming in at 210g/l of residual sugar, the sweet palate explodes with gorgeous flavours of acacia honey, lemon and candied fruits. The mouth is gourmet, fresh and elegant, with incredible purity and length! The finish is concentrated, slightly heady and very aromatic with hints of toast and citrus fruit, but leaves you with an overwhelming freshness. Laurent recommends that this Ratafia is best matched, alongside a lemon or apple pie, and also with cheeses such as truffled Brie or baked Camembert.
