Trois Rivieres VSOP 40%
Tasting Note
Tasted: Feb 2019
A lovely, intense, herbal agricole nose with iodine and menthol. Sweet dried apricot, sultana, lime, tangerine, Satsuma, sugar cane and tobacco leaf follows. With time there are some almost botrytis-like notes and a late-harvested earthy honey sweetness.
The palate is earthy and slightly meaty with coffee laced dried fruit, lime, tangerine, salt and a lovely, herbal agricole middle. Quite full and honeyed with wood spice, menthol and tobacco leaf. Superb intensity and a long, salty finish with a touch of violets and lingering herbs.
