Trois Rivieres Double Wood 43%

Tasting Note

Tasted: Apr 2024

The nose opens with some relatively subtle herbal/ medicinal agriocle notes along with some grippy French oak and fresh vanilla’d, possibly first fill American oak. Hints of earth, salt, dried apricot, sultana follow. The oak is definitely noticeable, but it doesn’t overwhelm the spirit. With time burnt wood and dark honey.

The palate is fresh and salty to begin with herbal/ medicinal agriocle notes. Less oak, although the taught French oak spices come through on the middle and bitter a little. Long, dried apricot, sultana and chunky American oak on the finish with returning, medicinal Agricole, youthful marc-like spirit and a huge amount of salt. It’s definitely characterful.
