Dense aromas of dried dark fruit, plum, apricot and sultana. Subtly grapey and honeyed but the cask is very noticeable. With time a touch of sweet barley, cinnamon, nutmeg and aromatic, grapey white fruit.
The palate is full and honeyed with dried grape, apricot, orange, tangerine and satsuma. It’s a real fruit salad! Hints of barley and edgy, burnt honey on the middle. Long, tongue tingling spicy finish with returning barley. The palate is a little better balanced but like the Madeira finish the cask is pretty heavy.
