Re- Tasted: Aug 2025
The nose is still quite heavily oak influenced (vanilla cream) but in this release it shows more barley and coastal character. Hints of lime, honeysuckle, summer fruit, salt and ozone.
The palate opens with the creamy oak, vanilla and toffee, which blankets the coastal saltiness. Hints of barley, apple, apricot and honeysuckle on the middle before the oak reappears. Good length with sweet ginger, spice, salt and slightly perfumed vanilla finish. In conclusion: Although still very much influenced by the first fill American oak, the balance appears to have improved.
