The Antiquary 15 year old 40%
Tasting Note
A blend of 40% malt/ 60% Grain married in ex-Claret casks.
Tasted: Jul 2024
The nose is crisp, fresh and slightly high toned but shows some aromatic barley, nuts, apricot and marzipan. There is a subtle but noticeable red fruit character along with a gentle grain nip. Late sultana, dried grainy fruit and dusty spice.
The palate is also pleasantly fresh and a touch lighter than the nose would lead you to believe. Barley, malt, apricot, sweet red fruit follow with a little dusty spice on the middle. Gorgeously silky with a little grain note appearing along with a touch of smoke, which comes through on the finish. Pleasant spicy after-taste.
