Tasted: Sept 2026
The nose displays a similar intensity of peat character to batch #4 with creamy American oak along with subtle Fino sherry dried fruit and subtle herbal Oloroso notes. With time the fleshy almost rum-like tropical fruit notes appear.
The palate is similar to batch #5 with possibly a little more oak character. Opens with the creamy American oak, Fino sherry and herbal Oloroso. Nippy alcohol enhanced citrus, apricot, apple and light peat follow. Lovely intensity and continuing citric with dry barley, Fino dried fruit, sweet apricot and salt in the finish. Malt biscuits and peat smoke after-taste.
