Springbank 10 year old 46%
Tasting Note
The last time I tasted the Springbank 10 year old was November 2020 (bottle code 20/219), so the tasting note below is for guidance only!
The nose displays more sherry than recent bottlings but its still fresh, briny and fishy with oily barley, creamy vanilla and subtle dried fruit and spice. Hints of herbal peat, smoke, citrus, apricot and clementine.
The palate opens with the oily barley, fish oils and soft vanilla American oak. Some slightly gritty sherrywood tannins follow along with moist prune and raisins on the middle. Sweet apricot, lemon and brine balance the sherry and the finish is intense, salty and fishy with herbal peat and lingering oily barley.
