Saint Jean du Barroux 2015 Ventoux Rouge ‘La Pierre Noire’
Tasting Note
More expansive and voluptuous than Phillip’s other cuvées, La Pierre Noir (offers a slightly darker profile, with blackberry, ground pepper, mineral, liquorice and dark chocolate notes all emerging from the glass. Full-bodied, rich and textured, it has smoking level of voluptuously ripe fruit, yet backs it up with masses of finely polished tannin that are only partially concealed by the fruit. This can be relished and enjoyed on its own, but it will also make a wonderful accompaniment to a variety of meaty and cheese dishes. Phillipe is certainly proving himself as one of the best producers in Ventoux!
