Lindores Abbey MCDXCIV Core Release 46%
Tasting Note
Tasted: June 2020
The nose initially displays quite a bit of the dusty, chocolaty STR cask along with some herbal sherried notes. Hints of apricot, barley, honey and citrus can be discerned beneath. With time heather, ginger, vanilla and supple tannins.
The palate also opens with dusty, chocolaty STR cask and hints of herbal sherry and spice. Vanilla, barley, apricot and ginger comes through on the middle along with some lovely spicy tannins. Long with lingering softening tannins, malt, black cherry and returning chocolate. In Conclusion: Although a little heavy on the wine cask the balance is pretty good.
