Ledaig 10 year old Hebridean Moon 58.8%
Tasting Note
Distilled to embody the spirit of a moon-lit Mull.
Ex Bourbon
Tasted: Aug 2025
An intense and barley’d nose. Very clean and almost tropical! – pineapple, green banana, pear, apricot, pepper and meaty peat. Iodine, salt and thankfully subtle vanilla oak follow. Slightly ozoney with quite an alcohol pickle, but there is plenty of balance fruit sweetness.
The palate is quite oily and meaty to start, but like the nose it displays a good amount of barley and fruit. Sweeter pineapple, apricot, pear and hints of coconut and toffee. Subtly smoky, peaty and meaty with building salt and coconut on the middle. Long, tropical, sweet coconut and toasted oak finish with lingering smoke and iodine.
Water knocks back some of the fruitiness and emphasises the barley and slightly grippy oak tannins. Hints of sweet rose petal and charred oak. The palate is less intense and displays loads more sweet oak. Ashier peat and less tropical with lingering coconut.
