Tasting Note
Re- Tasted: Aug 2025
The nose is ashy and savoury with sweet barley, citrus, salt and very sweet American oak (clotted cream). I don’t remember the oak being so prevalent and sweet in previous releases. The oak becomes a little dominating. Late salty/ coastal and lemon just about balance.
The palate opens with the sweet oak, grilled bacon, malt, ashy peat and salt. Less oaked than the nose, thus more spirit character. Slightly herbal, medicinal and iodine middle. Long, meaty, salty, briny finish with lingering oak – coconut and sweet vanilla ice cream.
