Laphroaig Lore 48%
Tasting Note
Re-Tasted: May 2025
The nose definitely shows some mature ‘phroaig characteristics. Lovely and mellow with earth, sweet peat, herbal peat, vanilla, coffee and hints of green pepper, salt, medicinal herbs and barley. Less sherry than I remember.
The palate opens with capsicum, herbal peat and mature spirit. Lovely gentle coastal intensity and sweet barley middle along with a touch of earth, shell fish, brine, coffee, hickory, charcoal, dried fruit and more green pepper. Long, very salty finish with lingering sweet barley, grippy sherrywood tannins and wood embers. Citrus and herbal peat after-taste.
Description
