Hard and spicy rye led nose of dark rye, violets and spice. The oak is fairly hidden but adds a little sweet vanilla and toffee. Late citrus, corn, violets, coffee and toasted oak.
The palate opens with the dark and spicy rye, rose petal spirit and rye bread. Again, the oak is quite reserved adds a little vanilla and toffee. It’s quite surprising how little oak character has been imparted and although there is some corn, it is definitely not fat or sweet. Hints of violets, coffee and bittering spice on the middle. Good length with biscuits, dry corn kernel and spice finish. You have to love the intensity!
