Jean-Claude Lapalu 2014 Cote de Brouilly Magnums
Tasting Note
The same vinification as the Croix des Rameaux, but that comes from limestone and clay soils instead. Every aspect of this wine is firing on all cylinders! There is no weak point. The bouquet is fabulous, the classic Brouilly Black and sour cherries mixed with mulberry and blueberries are ripe and sumptuous to a degree you rarely see accompanied by cold stone/ flinty accents. The body is perfectly balanced with precise acidity and an exceptionally refined and direct finish. This is why Jean Claude is known as the boss of Brouilly and it doesn’t get any better than this!
