Hinch Small Batch Blended Irish Whiskey 43%

Tasting Note

Possibly ex-Cooley spirit.
3-4 year old Spirit (25% Malt, 75% Grain)
First Fill Bourbon
Tasted: Sept 2019
A sweet and bananary nose with plenty of classically Irish, estery fruit and a balancing nippy grain note. Subtly oaked with hints of freesia, white rose and with time some botanical grain.

The palate opens with more crisp, citric and sweet grain which definitely reminds me of Cooley grain (Greenore). Hints of fleshy apricot, banana and toffee’d oak come through on the middle. Good weight and balance with a long, citric finish which has a lovely grainy/ spicy nip at the end. In conclusion: Really well balanced with the malt component punching above its weight.
