Hinch 5 year old Double Wood Blended Irish Whiskey 43%

Tasting Note

Possibly ex-Cooley spirit.
20% Malt, 80% Grain
4 year in ex-Bourbon/ 1 year in Virgin American oak
Tasted: Sept 2019
Intense aromas of toffee coated banana fritters and hints of herbal and citric grain. Quite crisp and fresh with subtle new oak vanillins. With time hints of cinnamon and clove. The slightly tight tannins balance the sweetness well.

The palate is sweet but fresh with again banana fritters and hints of toffee. Plenty of spicy new oak comes through on the middle along with a grainy nip. Good sweet/ citrus balance and a long, spicy, barley’d and dry finish with lingering nippy grain, oak and banana.
