Highland Laird Mortlach 2014 (10 year old) 58.4%
Tasting Note
Sherry Butt 207
Dist: Jul 2014 Btl 2024
Tasted: Nov 2025
A nose of herbal but chocolaty sherry. Pure raisin and dried citrus and a touch of sweet vanilla. Although there is no spirit character, there is a sensation of robust spirit.
The palate also displays a wealth of silky and chocolaty dried fruit. Raisin, sultana, fig with a subtle herbal nuance. Again, there is a sensation of oily/ weighty spirit on the middle. Masked, continuing chocolaty.
Water tames the sherry a bit and brings out some fleshy banana-esque notes. The palate is much the same as neat although longer with a slightly spicier finish.
