A dense but floral nose of dark dried fruit, plum, apricot and baked apple. Hints of cinnamon, toffee, walnut, fresh toast and late greengage and mandarin.
The palate is soft and quite vanilla’d with baked apple, and hints of dried plum, sultana and cinnamon. It starts off quite slowly but picks up the pace quite well. A touch of tight tannin on the middle bringing spice and cocoa. Long with returning toffee’d oak. Lingering honeysuckle, ginger and a subtle herbal rancio.
