Re- Tasted: May 2021
A rich, dark, juicy and malty nose with a combination of dark and milk chocolate and plenty of earthy and herbal dried red fruit. A little heavier on the port finish than I remember. Subtle tannins, vanilla and honey appear along with apricot and toasted oak. The port notes become quite fragrant with time.
The palate is full of sweet, dried red fruit and malt. Again, it feels heavier on the port finish. Subtle barley, apricot and vanilla notes on the middle. The soft tannins build as do the nippy spices and chocolate. Long, juicy red fruit finish.
