2+ years finishing in 1st Fill Oloroso Hogshead
Tasted: Mar 2026
Aromas of dusty/ gristy, sweet barley and herbal Oloroso dried fruit. Hints of poached berries, dark toffee, sherry butter, plum pudding and wood char. With time the sherry does become quite dominant.
The palate opens with some slightly treacly dried fruit, coffee, dark toffee and a suggestion of barley. Pleasant building spices on the middle. Slightly masked, sweet, dried and fresh red berry finish with lingering toffee, treacle and citrus.
Water brings out toasty oak on the nose and lessens the sherry intensity. Simpler but showing more barley and grassy distillery character. The palate is much the same and shows more tart green fruit and herbal spice.
