Glaschu Spirits Peallach (Ledaig) 2014 (10 year old) 50%

Tasting Note

9 years in refill Bourbon and 8 months finishing in Ximinez Spinola Oloroso
Dist: Nov 2014 Btl Jun 2025
Tasted: Aug 2025
The nose is quite medicinal and peppery to a noticeable but not overwhelming slightly treacly sherry note. It develops smoked meat, citrus and plenty of salt. Lovely freshness and less meaty than some Ledaig’s. Late off-sweet barley and honey.

The palate is more classically meaty, savoury and smoky but still very peppery, both green and black peppercorn. Hints of medicinal peat, raisinated fruit, treacle and coffee. Lovely complexity and length. Lingering pepper, burnt wood, bitter spice, salt and sweet dried fruit. Very impressive with a touch of smoked meat in the after-taste.
