Glaschu Spirits Company ‘Havelock Series’ Islay 2008 (15 year old) 50%
Tasting Note
Unnamed Laphroaig
Dist: Sept 2008 Btl: Nov 2023
Tasted: March 2024
A lovely Islay nose, showing some maturity, barley, white pepper and a subtle astringent/ medicinal peat note. Hints of green apple, lime, gooseberry, tar, vanilla and brine. Great depth!
The palate is fresher, crisper and saltier with white peach, pear, apple and white pepper. Malt, barley, astringent/ medicinal peat, bog myrtle, tar and soot follow. Like the nose it does show some maturity and it displays a lovely softness and coastal character. Long, green apple, melon, dark chocolate, earth, vanilla, soot and sweet/ mentholated herbal notes in the finish. Great finish!
