Re-Tasted: Aug 2017
The nose is quite spicy with a good chunk of herbal rye but softened by the corn. There seems to be more rye influence here than I remember. Hints of earth, coffee’d oak and subtle wood tannins follow along with a developing floral note.
The palate opens with the soft corn and vanilla, followed by the gentle, herbal and spicy rye, cocoa and violets. Girtty but soft tannins on the middle and it becomes fairly coffee’d too. Long, herbal rye finish.
