Spicy, earthy and rye heavy. A distinct improvement on the 2008. Hints of toasted caramel oak and sweet corn balance along with a lovely subtle citrus and mocha note. With time a touch of honey and herbal rye.
The palate opens with the sweet corn and citrus with the herbal and spicy rye arriving at speed. Hints of toffee, treacle and bitter oak appear on the middle. Lovely balance and just like Evan Williams should be. Long, earthy and toasty with a bitter spice finish.
