The nose is denser and woodier than the ‘Secret Mauritius’. A lovely depth of Jamaican-esque fleshy, naturally sweet apricot, pineapple, honey and chunky but supportive oak. It becomes quite fragrant and exotic with a little sultana and dried apricot. Late toasted oak along with pure, bitter, dark roasted coffee. Great fun!
The palate is woody, earthy and gritty with subtle dry tannins. However, like the nose it is generous and fruity with apricot, pineapple, sultana, dried apricot and citrus. Lovely dollop of honey and toasty oak on the middle with a touch of herbal pot Pourri and roasted coffee bean. Long, slightly grippy but the sweet and herbal honey balances. Lightly mentholated after-taste.
