Domaine Grand Nicolet 2021 Côtes du Rhône ‘Le Pourquoi Pas’
Tasting Note
Jean Pierre’s ‘Le Pourquoi Pas’ is a natural Côtes du Rhône wine, made with zero sulphur. The nose really explodes from the glass here, and there is a pronounced life, vibrancy and energy to the fruit. Although similar in the fruit profile to the regular Côtes du Rhône, there are a few more forward notes of raspberries and morello cherries to go alongside the black fruits. On the back cassis, and some gentle spicy notes come through as well as a delightful twang of white pepper. Lively, pure, deep and with a little more life, concentration and complexity than the regular Côtes du Rhône. This is delicious. Grenache (60%), Syrah (30%), Carignan (10%).
