Domaine Grand Nicolet 2015 Vin Doux Naturel Rasteau ‘Grenat’
Tasting Note
Made from over 80-year-old Grenache vines, some of the oldest in Rasteau, this makes for a delicious and refined dessert wine. Deep ruby in the glass this cuvée sings on the nose with sweet and baked ripe and pure blackberries, blackcurrants and raspberries. There is an attractive tingle of spice that is hinted at on the nose but that comes through wonderfully on the palate. The alcohol and sweetness never becomes heavy or cloying, it is pure, harmoniously balanced and vibrant. Incredibly appealing, and like all of Jean-Pierre’s range, amazing value! 90g/l residual sugar.
