Chateau d’Epiré 2015 Savennières ‘La Chapelle’

Tasting Note

Named after the side chapel of the 12th century church of Epiré, which houses the domaines cellars and is where this cuvée is vinified. Made from grapes left to ripen for a few days more than many of the other cuvées, allowing them to reach wonderful levels of ripeness that could have allowed this wine to be vinified off-dry. Gorgeous aromas and flavours of candied stone fruit come through on the nose and palate, rich and delightful. Everything is harmoniously balanced with the addition of mouth-watering acidity and a steely minerality, and the length is something else. A perfect partner to a range of appetizers and creamy fish dishes!
