Chateau de Rouanne 2019 Vinsobres ‘Guerin’
Tasting Note
A Spectacular Vinsobres made from a the classic GSM mix, and from limestone and clay soils at the base of the Rouanne hill. The vines average an age of 50 years and the cuvée has seen 12 month aging in demi-muids and Burgundy casks (15%new & 85% used).
In 2019, on its first year of ‘release’, Guérin offers us an unusually styled Vinsobres with captivating characters. Its complex and charming nose of marzipan ushers in a palate showing mesmerising softness. Its very feminine elegance stands in sharp contrast to the powerful ‘Les Côtes’ or the majestic grandeur of ‘Rouanne et les Crottes’. Filled to the brim with glorious notes of Marzipan, wild blackberries, coal, violets, and an uplifting underlying salinity. Absolutely delicious!
