Casa de Saima 1995 Garrafeira
Tasting Note
This wine pre-dates my arrival at Gauntleys and I remember tasting it back in 2000 and it was incredibly backward. It was classic, tannic, old fashioned Portuguese Baga and definitely built for ageing! I re-tasted it when it was 10 years old and it was still pretty unyielding, so I made a mental note to leave it in the cellar for a few more decades! So at 30 years of age I’m fairly confident that this wine has finally reached it’s “drinking window!”
