A vatting of Ardmore, distilled November 2016 aged in 1st Fill VSOP Cognac barrique and Ardmore, distilled November 2013 aged in 2nd Fill ex-Islay Barrels (Laphroaig).

Aromas of sweet barley and Cognac apple notes. Sweet peat with a touch of iodine, seaweed, plum and vanilla appear. Lovely balance with late crisp green apple and citrus.
The palate also opens with the sweet barley, vanilla and baked apple. Hints of ash, earth and subtly astringent peat follows. Lovely burst of citrus, both orange and lemon on the middle. Slightly masked, herbal peat, dry tannin and sweet dried apple finish with a little ginger and vanilla in the after-taste.
Water emphasises the barley and brings out fleshy white fruit and citrus. The plate also shows more barley and apple. Subtler on the peat but wonderfully robust and mouth-filling.
