A lovely oily, rich marzipan oak nose to begin with, followed by barley, highland herbs/ scrub, apricot and smoke. Good balancing crisp and sweet grain note appears along with a subtle touch of salt.
The palate is also rich and oily with subtle barley, apricot, orange marmalade and sweet grain. The nippy, herbal grain comes through on the middle bringing some grainy dried fruit and there are some salty astringent notes as well. Good length with the returning oily oak, marzipan, vanilla and barley.
