The late visionary, Riccardo Baracchi, revolutionised the estate’s approach to winemaking, blending his deep love for tradition with forward-thinking sustainable practices. Together with his son, Benedetto, and renowned oenologist Stefano Chioccioli, they perfected every detail, from soil selection to vine management. Their 32-hectare vineyard spans four distinct plots, each selected to bring out the best in their chosen varietals. This meticulous care results in wines that are vibrant, balanced, and bursting with character—a perfect expression of Tuscany itself.
The Wines
2022 IGT Toscano Bianco ‘O’Lilla’
Coming in at 80% Chardonnay, 20% Viogner, and representing wonderful value for money, is the O’Lilla Bianco. It is a vibrant light yellow hue tinged with hints of green in the glass. The aromatic profile is intriguing featuring fruity notes of crisp green apple, zesty citrus, and tropical pineapple, complemented by delicate floral accents and subtle herbaceous undertones. Lively and velvety on the palate, delivering a refreshing and savoury finish. Exhibits an elegant and well-balanced character. The wine has spent 6 months in stainless steel vats and 1 months in bottle before the release.
2022 IGT Toscana Rosso ‘O’Lillo’
The 2022 O’Lillo features an even split of 4 different grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese and Syrah, which are all vinified separately. The juice spends 20 days macerating with the skins. Following that, it ages for 6 months in stainless steel tanks and an additional 3 months in the bottle before being released. This results in a ruby-red hue with delicate violet undertones. The aroma is fruity, dominated by cherry and blackcurrant scents. On the palate the fruit is backed up by hints of black pepper and tobacco. The wine is easy to enjoy, offering a fresh taste, full-bodied feel, and gentle tannins. Its finish is fruit-forward and delightfully long.
