Baracchi 2018 IGT Toscano Rosso ‘Ardito’
Tasting Note
The Ardito blend proved a real revelation to us, and is one of the finest wines Baracchi produce. Made from a 50/50 blend of the very best Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes on the estate and aged for 24 months in French oak, this wine is sensational. Wonderfully intense, but harmonious and elegant, with fabulous melange of mulberry fruits and hints of cigar/tobacco. It is remarkably complex, elegant and harmonious, revealing layer upon layer as you drink. Full-bodied, it is supported by velvety and smooth tannins, combined with a much-needed and fresh acidic lift. The finish is incredibly long and fine.
