Arran Sauternes Cask Finish 50%
Tasting Note
Re-Tasted: Jan 2019
The nose is sweeter, denser and displaying more honey and a lot less peat than the last time I tasted it. Gorgeous, if slightly soapy white fruit, along with peach, apricot, grape and hints of creamy vanilla, salt, sweet barley and late banana and pineapple.
The palate is quite sweet, barley’d and honeyed with again a faint soapiness, but plenty of white peach, pear, apple and straw. Like the nose there is no peat this time, but it does have a lovely, fleshy Irishy-like finish with lingering honeyed and lightly coffee’d Sauternes cask notes in the finish and a smidge of spice.
